The book is a history of progressiveness in the United States from Theodore Roosevelt to the present. It outlines many books, quotes and authors from the past 120 years. It shows what liberalism can do to the country and not always necessarily bad. Historically the book shows that the change in our governments thinking and how it affected the people of the country. Book will get you to understand what has occurred in the past presidents and why they proposed the progressive programs that occurred during their administration.

Many folks take the word progressive as a negative meaning but let us understand that we constantly need progress and originally that is what the work was to mean. But what happen the left in the U.S. carried progressiveness to the extent that it became a word that meant charily by many on the right. So they started to associate it with liberalism. So now many think progressiveness is liberal.
